I am unable to view the table content with the columns of datatype "uniquidentifier" using sql web administrator tool->query option.

When I put it in Windows Server 2008 it gives me fallowing error:

just change app pool to let sqlwebadmin run at 32bit environment, test pass at windows2008 R2

Hi everyone! I'm currently testing this application and so far I have no complaint. However, I'm having a little issue with the authentication. I installed the website in a Windows 2003 R2 Server with IIS 6 and followed the instructions about the setup of the installation. I created an Application Pool just for the website and configured the security with the anonymous check disabled in the website. Testing the connection to an instance sharing the same server with the website it gives me no problem. In the log file appears an audit record stating that my Active directory user just logged sucessfully. However, when I try to log into an instance installed in another server the authentication fails and in the SQL Server log appears the message "Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'. [CLIENT: <webserver ip>]".

I'm at a loss about the source of this error. It obviuosly states that my credentials are not being sent to the server but I cannot find how to fix this.

Did I skipped something in the configuration?

I'am trying publish that application in my host, but the application doesnt work and show that error message:

Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineOnly' beyond machine.config.

Download and install *** Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components ***

You may need to update SQLDMO.dll under the folder /SqlWebAdmin/bin

I am also trying to connect to a SQL Server 2008 Database. When I try, I get the following error:

I have downloaded the sqldmo and the 2005 backward compatibility patch with the same results. I have tried to connect to mutliple 2008 servers with no luck. I am able to connect to all of my sql 2000 servers just fine.

it is a security problem.
sqladmin must have access to registry .
you can change your iis anonymous user ( application pool and website) to administrator and change the application pool identity to (predefined:systemUser) Note: this is not good for your site security
then sql web data administrator work fine.
do not try to change registry primision. i do this and now i cant login to my windows .

When I want to view logins on SQL Server 2000, the form throw an exception. The reason is a missing validation in the string properties of the class SqlLogin. I fix it replacing null string with String.Empty value.

I have encountered the same error. It seems to occur when no default database setting exists for the login. I recommend changing the code as follows:

At line 60 in ServerLogins.aspx.cs, replace:

Created Issue: Exception thrown when using (local) with SQL 2005 Express

The web application throws the exception shown below when trying to use (local) to connect to a SQL Express 2005 instance with Windows Authentication. Using (local)/SQLEXPRESS logs in successfully. The error should be tested for and a more user friendly error message provided.

on local machine everything runs fine however on server get the following error. I think this is a permission issue with the .net framework folder just cant remember what I needed to do to fix. Running server 2000. net framework 2.0

Check and see if SQLDMO installed on your webserver. If not, please do the following:

1. Copy the contents of "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn" from (where ever you can find it) into a folder on your server (For example, SqlWebAdmin/bin)
2. Open a command window, cd to that binn folder, and then run "regsvr32 SQLDMO.dll", this installed SQLDMO.dll into the server's COM registry. It should give you a "installed successfully" message box.
3. Logout and log back into your instance of SqlWebAdmin and see if it works.
